Midas Resources Limited is a West Australian based company with a significant gold project at Lake Carey south of Laverton. The Company also maintains a targeted generative program looking for "company makers".
Midas has the Fortitude gold deposit in Western Australia at Lake Carey (473,000oz) where AngloGold Ashanti is carrying out a study into a possible open pit development that would involve treatment of ore at their Sunrise Dam facility. A commercial agreement would follow-on from the results of the mining studies.
Midas has also recently entered into a Share Purchase Agreement concerning Mulga Minerals Pty Ltd, a company that holds Iron Ore tenements in the Pilbara District, Western Australia. Subject to Due Diligence, Midas intends to carry out an active iron ore exploration program on the tenements as they are granted.
The Company is committed to discovery by maintaining an aggressive but scientifically driven exploration program. The Company also expects that there will be good opportunities to acquire new projects as other companies continue to rationalise holdings in 2009.
Midas’ strategy is to focus on our advanced gold project at Lake Carey and the new Pilbara Iron ore projects and to seek new opportunities to acquire quality gold, nickel and base metal projects that have drilled mineralisation or resources and good exploration upside.
